Alb-Confindustry calls on the Government of Albania to prepare and to make public all backup alternatives for guaranteeing the power supply to the companies and citizens, in spite of the concerns and anticipated relations with the current exclusive owner of energy distribution system in the country - CEZ Distribution S.A.. Alb-Confindustry gives prominence to the aforementioned appeal to the government and all policy making actors in general due to the increasing concern of the important local industries regarding the guarantee of the energy supply under the conditions of the failure of management and weak performance of CEZ Distribution S.A. The situation appears particularly alarming after the recent decision of Energy Regulatory Entity (ERE)to warn CEZ Distribution S.A. of abolition of its license. Moreover, the unprecedented attempt of CEZ Distribution S.A. to cut off the electric power of the aqueduct eneterprises was a clear threat for the business and local production companies in the country. Konfindustria assesses that, under the circumstances of the continuation of global crisis, which has widely affected the economy of Albania, it would lead to a very harmful impact and enormous consequences to the long-term development of the country, in case the companies and citizens would meet the deficiencies of energy supply.
